Our hand-painted color chart contains all the information you'll need to select wisely from our wide variety of dry pigments.

Each color will show a sample of the pigment bound in gum arabic laid onto watercolor paper as well as the relevant technical information such as it's color index, average particle size, opacity, etc. Everything is presented in a ring-bound binder.

methodology

All pigments swatches in this color chart have been prepared from the following proportions:

Shade 1	Shade 2²
• 3g dry pigment	• 0.5g dry pigment
• 6g solution of gum arabic¹	• 6g solution of gum arabic¹
The watercolors thus produced have been applied to a constant area of 0.36 m2 to visually illustrate the variation of tinting power between the different pigments.
1. Concentration of Kama pigment’s gum Arabic solution used to make this chart: 34,2 % 2. For pigments with an unusually strong tinting power, we have decided to make a second tint (tint no.2) to better illustrate them , specifically their undertone.
