VIRTUAL DEMONSTRATION
Egg tempera

In the egg tempera technique, you don't mix pigment and binder all at once. You first grind you pigments in a paste with water, then you prepare only the desired amount of paint by adding egg yolk to small quantities of the pigment paste as needed when painting. We do this because egg yolk dries fast and is non resoluble. Paint made in advance would dry very quickly and ultimately would be lost.

To prepare the pigment paste, follow the same indications as in the demonstration on making acrylic paints with dry pigments until you have a well dispersed pigment paste.
