VIRTUAL DEMONSTRATION How to make acrylic paints with dry pigments |
|||||
| In fact, it is with the organic pigments that you will have these problems and it is due of their low density. Since these pigments are less heavy than water: they float over it. Therefore they are almost impossible to disperse in this liquid. Density: The ratio between mass (weight) and volume (space). For example, a pillow made of feathers has a low density (low mass/large volume) and a lead ball has a high density (heavy mass/low volume). In our example the organic pigments have an inferior density than the solvent we wish to use (water). |
