How to make oil paint

The last step -grinding- consist in dispersing the pigments even more finely in the binder which will make our color more intense and boost its tinting power.

For this step you may use a glass muller which is the traditional tool that will allow the finest dispersion of pigments. This is a handy instrument to have when a large quantity of paint needs to be prepared. Use both hands, press and make circular motions. If you don't have a muller, you can use your flexible steel spatulas to grind.
